FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Q: When will it be done? A: Probably never. There are so many ships in the Star Wars universe, both canon and non-canon, that it would be impossible to model them all. However, we expect to release a 'base' mod and then expansion sets of ships and missions as they are completed. Q: What ships will be included? A: To start with, we're making the most familiar ships from the movies and a few others from the games for play balance. Polls on the forum will probably decide the next ships to be made, whether people would rather have lots of unimportant movie ships or common game ships. Q. How will the weapon interface work? A: Currently we have light and heavy lasers and ion cannons for the Rebels and Imperials (all canonically named), as well as different classes of blasters and lasers for the civilians, neutrals, and bounty hunters of the galaxy. Secondary weapons will range from Proton Torpedoes and Concussion Missiles to other undecided rarities. Q: Will you be using models from X-Wing Alliance or the XWA Upgrade, or other mods? A: No. We do not have permission to use most of these models, and most of them are unsuitable due to FS2's picky model system. Instead will will be creating entirely new models for virtually everything in the game to provide the highest level of quality attainable, and to take advantage of the FSO engine. Q: I have some models, or I know how to model. Can I help? A: Probably! Familiarize yourself with the FS2 model specifications and post in the forum. |
